- If you get kicked out of a Blackboard test
- Check your internet connection: A lost or unstable connection is a common culprit. Ensure you have a strong and reliable internet connection.
- If it is a proctored test, contact Honorlock immediately
- If it is an unproctored test, contact your instructor immediately and copy support@aami.edu on the email: This is the most important step. Explain what happened and when it occurred. Only your instructor can clear your attempt and allow you to retake the exam. However, support@aami.edu may see your problem more quickly, be able to resolve the issue, and in certain cases, clear your attempt and allow you to retake your exam.
- Provide as much detail as possible about exactly what you were doing, and any error messages you received when you were kicked out: Include information such as:
- Course name and section.
- Exam title and location within the course.
- Operating system (PC or Mac).
- Browser used (e.g., Firefox, Chrome).
- If other tabs or applications were open.
- If you were logged into other AAMI applications.
- If you were on or off-campus.
- A screenshot of the error message (if applicable).
- Wait for further instructions: Your instructor will determine the next steps, which could include:
- Clearing your previous attempt, allowing you to retake the test from the beginning.
- Allowing you to resume the test if “Force Completion” was not enabled.
- To prevent future issues
- Use a recommended browser: Firefox or Chrome are generally recommended for Blackboard.
- Ensure a stable internet connection: A wired connection is ideal when taking tests.
- Close other applications and tabs: This minimizes potential conflicts and improves performance.
- Disable pop-up blockers: Blackboard may use pop-ups for certain functions.
- Click save frequently: If the option is available, save your answers periodically to ensure your progress is recorded.
